چکیده

We describe a novel biochemical sensing method and its potential new biosensing applications. A light-sensitive complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) chip prepared through a standard 0.5m CMOS process was developed for measuring biochemical reactions. A light producing enzymatic reaction catalyzed by horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was designed as a platform reaction to determine the concentration of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) by the CMOS chip with a standard semiconductor parameter analyzer (HP4145). The kinetics of enzymatic reaction were determined and compared with a standard and sophisticated fluorometer (Hitachi F-4500) in a biochemical laboratory. Similar results were obtained by both instruments. Using glucose oxidase as an example, we further demonstrated that the HRP platform can be used to determine other H2O2 producing reactions with the CMOS system. The result points to an important application of the CMOS chip in biological measurements and in diagnosis of various health factors.

New Method for Analysis of image sensor to produce and evaluate the image

In this paper, a new method for evaluating CMOS image sensors based on computer modeling and analysis is introduced. Image sensors are composed of different parts, each of which has a specific effect on image quality. Circuits of image sensors can be evaluated and analyzed using circuit simulators or theoretically, but these methods cannot help to produce the final image. In order to produce th...

Pixel Design and Evaluation in CMOS Image Sensor Technology

A chip designed in a 0.18 μm CMOS Image Sensor Technology (CIS) is presented which incorporates different pixel design alternatives for Active Pixel Sensor (APS). CIS technology improves characteristics such as sensitivity, dark current and noise, that are strongly layout dependent. This chip includes a set of pixel architectures where different parameters have been modified: layout of active d...

A Time-gated 128x128 Cmos Spad Array for On-chip Fluorescence Detection

Introduction A micro total analysis system (-TAS) is a miniaturized laboratory to perform rapid reactions, using extremely reduced sample volumes, and to efficiently process flow-based assays for applications in chemistry, biochemistry and the life science. To date, analysis is still performed by fluorescence microscopes, even though bulky and expensive, since they enable the highest flexibili...

Cmos-based Luminescent Co2 Sensor

In this work, we demonstrate a portable optical CO2 sensor using CMOS image sensing with polarization signal isolation. Luminescent CO2 detection methods generally exhibit faster response time and increased sensitivity over the established commercial sensors (NDIR, electrochemical), but require bulky and expensive spectrophotometry equipment which confines them to a lab. Components used in our ...

Development of Lensed Color Filter technology for higher SNR and lower crosstalk CMOS image sensor

To enhance SNR performance by reducing crosstalk in backside illumination (BSI) pixel structure of CMOS image sensor, a new process technology, named as ‘lensed color filter’, was developed. Effective color filter thickness is increased while optical height is lower than conventional structure. The real chip with 1.12um pixels and 12Mega resolution was manufactured. It has 25% higher color filt...
